Bremer Bank’s fourth annual ESG report reflects continued progress in environmental, social and governance achievements

03.20.25

Bremer Bank today furthered its commitments to its customers, communities and the planet by releasing its 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report. This is the bank’s fourth annual report, which includes an ever-growing list of actionable ways that Bremer aligns its ESG goals with its purpose of cultivating thriving communities.

“In 2024, Bremer Bank focused on strengthening and deepening its ESG efforts to honor the legacy of our immigrant founder, Otto Bremer,” said Bremer Bank President and CEO Jeanne Crain. “Our proactive work to maximize our guiding purpose of cultivating thriving communities has been an absolute honor and a privilege. Our hope is that, as the perception and understanding of ESG continues to evolve, Bremer’s efforts serve as an example for others to drive positive changes in our industry and the many communities served.”

ESG reporting highlights environmental, social and governance considerations and pairs them with corresponding metrics and methods used to tangibly measure a company’s performance against ESG risks, opportunities and strategies.

Bremer’s 2024 ESG report highlights include:

  • 50% of Bremer buildings converting to LED lighting – a 25% increase from 2023.

  • Total solar power usage of 4.4 million kilowatt-hours company-wide, representing a 10 percent increase from the previous year.

  • Recognition as one of Minnesota’s top companies for innovative giving as a 2024 Minnesota Keystone Award recipient.

  • Participation in and sponsorship of the largest-ever Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity redevelopment project, the 2024 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project.

Led by a cross-functional ESG Committee, Bremer voluntarily publishes its ESG report annually to track progress and update goals.
