Colette Campbell, Chief People and Culture Officer for Bremer Bank, was honored by the American Bankers Association (ABA) as the recipient of its 2024 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Outstanding Leader Award. These awards recognize ABA member banks for their internal-facing programs, leadership and activities focused on improving diversity, equity and inclusion within their workplace. Campbell was recognized on Sept. 12 during the virtual 2024 ABA DEI Summit.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized for the hard work our Bremer team has done in integrating DEI into our business,” said Campbell. “Since I became a DEI leader at Bremer Bank, we have been persistent and committed in challenging our organization to continually evolve and hold ourselves accountable to our purpose of cultivating thriving communities, so that we can make real impacts on the communities we serve.”
As Bremer’s Chief People and Culture Officer, Campbell oversees the company’s human resources, DEI, and talent acquisition teams. Her work has positioned Bremer Bank as a leader in DEI integration, with recent accomplishments including executing commitments laid out in the company’s Equity Action Plan, and advancing its community presence through partnerships and events. Colette and her team created Bremer’s first diversity council and established a supplier diversity program. She also played a critical role in Bremer’s expansion into diverse, historically underserved communities, including reinvestment in the Saint Paul-Midway neighborhood and a new Bremer location in the Minneapolis-Lake Street neighborhood.
“Colette leads with passion, kindness and conviction. She has made a tremendous impact on our culture and challenging the way we think,” said Jeanne Crain, president and CEO of Bremer Bank. “She is incredibly deserving of this award and I’m grateful her work and impact is being recognized on a national scale.”
