South St. Paul community and business leaders together with Bremer Bank employees gathered today for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Bremer’s newly built South St. Paul branch. Occupying the same address as the previous building at 633 Concord St. S., the bright, updated space sits at 7,695 square feet and evokes a collaborative atmosphere through modern upgrades and a re-imagined layout.
“Bremer Bank has been a proud member of the South St. Paul community since 1932, when our founder Otto Bremer became a principal stakeholder in the original Drovers State Bank,” said Bremer President and CEO Jeanne Crain. “Otto deeply felt the importance of community collaboration and building a foundation of trust between his banks and the communities they served. Nine decades later, those values are still closely held at Bremer, and are proudly reflected through this innovative new space that will serve the South St. Paul region for decades to come.”
A staple of the South St. Paul community, the newly built branch offers a drive-thru, employs 15, and includes additional space for future team growth and partner expansion. Traditional bank teller lines have been replaced with accessible “partner tables” in the lobby for customer-banker collaboration. A spacious two-story atrium and floor-to-ceiling windows look out to an open patio for branch customers to enjoy. Construction began in May 2021, with the building officially opening for business on Jan. 31, 2022.
“Bremer Bank’s continuous investment in and commitment to authentically serve the residents of South St. Paul is second to none,” said South St. Paul Mayor James Francis. “This modern, new space is a testament to Bremer’s dedication to our community and will continue to be a positive presence in South St. Paul for generations to come.”
