Saint Paul business and community leaders gathered with Bremer Bank employees today for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of a new, full-service Bremer branch in the Saint Paul Midway neighborhood. Located on Snelling Ave. just north of Allianz Field, the modern space is almost twice the size of its old Midway branch, spanning more than 2,400 square feet. The branch’s design inspiration is pulled from the steady ebb and flow of the neighborhood’s energizing, movement-based atmosphere, with a special nod to its customers and the local Midway community present through a customized photo wall in the lobby.
“Saint Paul has been Bremer Bank’s home since 1932, and we are proud to be opening a revitalized branch in the beloved Midway neighborhood,” said Jeanne Crain, president and CEO of Bremer Bank. “This modernized, upgraded space reflects our continued commitment to providing quality financial services to our Saint Paul customers in a more convenient and efficient way for decades to come.”
Under construction since June 2021, the new branch is part of a mixed-use redevelopment project and located on the first floor of The Pitch Apartments, which offers market-rate units. It includes “partner tables” rather than a traditional bank teller line for improved service and stronger banker-patron relationships. Customers will benefit from the added convenience of a drive-up service option, where banking needs can be met from the comfort of their own vehicle, as well as free parking and a night depository box.
“Bremer Bank’s longstanding commitment to deep investment, collaboration and creativity has served neighbors across our city for more than 75 years,” said Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter. “This new branch in our Midway neighborhood expands access to vital financial services to benefit our entire community."
In celebration of the new full-service branch, and to demonstrate its commitment to the Midway community, Bremer Bank has donated $50,000 to the Hallie Q Brown Community Center – a longstanding “lighthouse of the community” that embodies Bremer’s philanthropic focus of economic empowerment by providing access to critical human services, fostering and promoting personal growth, and developing community leadership. Bremer’s donation will support the community center’s food shelf and transportation for elementary students traveling to and from school each day.
