Today, Bremer Bank announced John Sikora has joined its Senior Executive Team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mitch Bleske, who has split his time serving as both CFO and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for several months, has shifted his focus to serving as Bremer’s full-time COO.
“Bremer’s industry and our customers are transforming – and so are we,” said President and CEO Jeanne Crain. “Throughout his time at Bremer, John has demonstrated both exceptional financial expertise and skills and an innate ability to be an effective leader. These are the exact qualities we need as Bremer strategically moves forward, positioning ourselves for ongoing growth.”
Sikora joined Bremer in 2017, and has served as Bremer’s Director of Accounting, Tax and Reporting since December 2018. As CFO, Sikora oversees Bremer’s financial management activities, including financial and regulatory reporting, accounting and tax, corporate treasury, and capital.
“Bremer has always been a unique bank in an ever-evolving industry. What is so exciting about beginning this work is knowing that Bremer has a clear vision for where we are going, which is rooted in who we are. I am honored and eager to serve in this role,” Sikora said.
Sikora has spent his over 15-year career in and around the financial services industry. His most recent position prior to joining Bremer was as a senior manager at a global professional services firm in its Banking and Capital Markets assurance practice. Sikora holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, risk management and insurance from the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management.
