Bremer Bank promotes Colette Campbell to Chief People and Culture Officer

02.20.24

Bremer Bank today announced the promotion of Colette Campbell to Chief People and Culture Officer. In this expanded role, Campbell takes on the oversight of the company’s human resources teams, in addition to the diversity, equity and inclusion and talent acquisition teams she has been leading the past seven years. Meghan Brown, previous Chief People and Culture Officer, is stepping into a newly created executive role as Chief Administrative Officer, overseeing the execution of the company’s strategic initiatives, business planning and reporting, internal communications, space planning, and process improvement.

“Since joining Bremer Bank in 2017, Colette has demonstrated a consistent track record of advancing individual and team focused opportunities, strengthening both our organization and the communities we serve,” said Jeanne Crain, president and CEO of Bremer Bank. “Bremer has been the beneficiary of Colette’s tremendous leadership. Her distinct expertise in the diversity, equity and inclusion and talent spaces has been critical to our success in this work.”

Originally joining Bremer as Director of Talent Acquisition and Diversity, Campbell quickly advanced to Chief Talent Acquisition and Diversity Officer. Her work has positioned Bremer Bank as a leader in talent acquisition and diversity, equity and inclusion integration, with recent accomplishments including executing commitments laid out in the company’s Equity Action Plan, and advancing its community presence through external partnerships and events.

Colette and her team created Bremer’s first diversity council and established a supplier diversity program. She also helped build the teams when Bremer determined it important to reinvest and expand into diverse, historically underserved communities, including the Saint Paul-Midway and the Minneapolis-Lake Street neighborhood.

“Bremer’s driving purpose of cultivating thriving communities cannot fully happen until we expand access to opportunity and resources for everyone,” said Campbell. “A large part of this work includes our ability to make positive impacts on racial equity and inclusion, particularly through talent acquisition and retention. I’m proud of the progress our team has made over the last several years and am energized for this expanded leadership opportunity.

Campbell has been recognized as a 2022 Women in Business honoree and as a 2023 Black Leader to Know by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal. Prior to joining Bremer, Campbell served as faculty in the disciplines of Business, Human Resources and Human Development, as well as provided coaching, training, and consulting services through her own business for several years. Campbell holds degrees in religious studies and counseling, as well as management, leadership and human development. Outside of her role with Bremer, Campbell serves on the Minneapolis Foundation Board, serves as an advisor for Ag Centric at Central Lakes College, and serves as an advisor to the business programs at both North Hennepin Community College and Saint Paul College.
